The Grounds changes how Clubs works in FC 27. Instead of treating Clubs as a separate menu-driven mode, EA has built it into a shared football world where you can walk around, meet other players, and move between different activities. Your regular Club matches are still here, but the way you access them is different.
The Grounds starts at The Terrace, which connects the three main districts. The Clubhouse is also located here and acts as the main hub for traditional Clubs content.
League and Playoff Matches
If you mainly play Clubs League matches, the basic experience will still feel familiar. From the Clubhouse, you can access both League and Playoff matches without having to search around the map.
League matches remain the regular competitive part of the Clubs progression, while Playoffs provide another stage of competition and can offer greater rewards. EA also confirms that Playoffs are part of the larger reward structure in The Grounds, so they are worth checking when you are looking for more progression.
For players who normally play with a full squad, the Clubhouse should be your first stop before starting a serious Clubs session.
Club Tournaments
Club Tournaments are one of the biggest additions to FC 27 Clubs. These are 11v11 events that give your Club another way to compete against other Clubs outside the normal League and Playoff structure.
Tournament events can have different numbers of rounds, House Rules, entry requirements, Objectives, and rewards. The first launch tournament is a Classic Stadium 11v11 event, while future events can change the rules and format. EA has already shown examples including Mystery Ball, King of the Hill, No Rules, Headers & Volleys, Survival, and Long Range.
That means Clubs Tournaments are worth checking regularly rather than treating them as a one-time mode. The format can change as new live events arrive.
11v11 Drop-In
You do not need a full Club squad to play 11v11 Drop-In. The Grounds provides a dedicated Stadium Drop-In access point for matchmaking-based experiences.
The important thing to remember is that 11v11 Drop-In is not launched from the Clubhouse. Instead, you need to travel to the separate stadium access point in The Grounds. Once you enter the mode, you temporarily leave the current Grounds world and use the traditional matchmaking experience, with players matched around a similar skill level.
This makes Drop-In a useful option when your Clubmates are offline or you simply want to play a full match without organizing a complete squad.
Ranked Rush and Rush Events
Rush also has dedicated access points around The Grounds. You can find Ranked Rush and Rush Live Event Tournaments while exploring the world or by using the map.
Like 11v11 Drop-In, entering one of these modes can temporarily take you out of the current Grounds instance while the match is played.
Rush is also available as a small-sided activity inside The Grounds. These world-based Rush matches are separate from the Stadium Rush experience and use smaller pitches. EA notes that these Rush matches are three minutes long.
A Simple Clubs Routine
For most players, the easiest way to navigate Clubs in The Grounds is:
Start at The Terrace.
Go to the Clubhouse for League, Playoffs, and Club Tournament content.
Check the map for 11v11 Drop-In or Rush access points.
Use Kickabouts and other activities while waiting for teammates.
Check Live Events for temporary competitions and rewards.
Your time in The Grounds also contributes to Pro progression, with gameplay earning AXP and Grounds Coins across different activities.
What About FC 27 Coins?
FC 27 Coins are separate from Grounds Coins, so do not confuse the two currencies. Grounds Coins are tied specifically to progression and purchases inside The Grounds, while FC 27 Coins are used elsewhere in the game.
If you are planning your wider FC 27 spending, focus on your actual Clubs needs first. Searching for FC27 Coins for sale will not change how League, Playoffs, or Drop-In matchmaking works, so understanding the new Grounds layout is more important when you are starting out.
The biggest change in FC 27 Clubs is therefore not the removal of traditional content, but how everything is connected. League and Playoffs remain at the center of Club competition, while Tournaments, Drop-In, Rush, and other activities give you more ways to play between matches.
